This case study draw out lessons from the Regional Resources Management Project implementation in regard to its impact on indigenous communities particularly in improving economic, environmental conditions and the sustainability of forestry initiative. It also discusses whether these types of programs are indeed the appropriate response in poverty alleviation and solving issues on climate change.

The authors conclude that Mt.  Data watershed is considered important to the residents, the resource has become a “tragic common” commodity due to commercial farming. They discussed that the residents IKSP which adheres to the principles of sustainable development should be revived and strengthen to restore the once rich ecosystem.
